We welcome you to Calvary Christian Reformed Church of Orange City, Iowa! Whether you're just visiting, looking for a 'church home', exploring the Christian faith or worshipping as a part of this local body of believers - we're glad you are here! Our goal is to affirm the supreme "worth-ship" of God, who knows us thoroughly, and loves us dearly.
We are here to praise God, to confess our wrongs, to seek God's pardon, to receive instruction from God's written Word, to meet with the living Word, our Lord Jesus Christ, & to enjoy each other's presence
Calvary strives to be a loving family, in which members experience intimacy with God and growth in Christian living
Our Mission is to Glorify God, to Equip Believers, and to Lead Seekers.
This Week's Sermons
The Christian Reformed Church (CRC) includes just over one thousand congregations across the United States and Canada. About 75 percent of the churches are in the United States; 25 percent are in Canada. We’re one of only a few binational denominations: rather than split into different churches at the 49th parallel, we’re united.
As people called by God,
We gather to praise God, listen to him, and respond.
We nurture each other in faith and obedience to Christ.
We love and care for one another as God's people.
We commit ourselves to serve and to tell others about Jesus.
We pursue God's justice and peace in every area of life.
The Christian Reformed Church is a diverse family of healthy congregations, assemblies, and ministries expressing the good news of God’s kingdom that transforms lives and communities worldwide.

Dear Calvary member, Our Calvary Executive Committee would like to communicate some decisions. We prayed, asking God for wisdom and discernment on these decisions, and we also heeded advice from the medical field along with suggestions from the CDC and the Iowa Department of Health. These decisions are made to protect all of us from the coronavirus, but especially those who are at high risk because of age or compromised immune systems. We are told the next few weeks are crucial to beating this virus and that all of us will play a role in this battle. With this in mind, here are the decisions we’d like to communicate to you:
We will move to ONLINE worship services (livestream) thru April 12. This applies to our AM and PM services. Only necessary persons will be at church during the services to ensure it runs smoothly.
Our church staff will be working and available, but we encourage only necessary visits.
All church activities thru April 12 will be cancelled or rescheduled. Each committee is asked to look at their schedule of events and communicate to Executive soon about which events are cancelled and which are being rescheduled.
All Youth Unlimited (Y.U.), GEMS, Cadets, Harmony Circle, Coffee Break, Bible studies, etc.… will not meet thru April 12.
We will communicate mostly by e-mail along with the use of our website (www.calvaryorangecity.com) Facebook, phone, and in some cases by mail for those who don’t have access to the internet. We plan to send you all of the things that would normally be in your church mailbox by electronic means.
Each Friday afternoon we will send out a digital version of the bulletin and the message outlines for the upcoming AM and PM service.
The only meetings which will continue during this time are the shepherd, elder, deacon, council and committee meetings as needed. Each of these meetings must adhere to the CDC standards of distancing. Generally, this means 6 feet distance between each person and no handshakes or close contact.
The deacons will send out a separate communication to you shortly with their plans on the Firstfruits pledges.
Any persons needing help to run errands, get groceries or other needs, please contact your care group shepherds or Elsa Kooiker @ (712) 441 4075. There are many people willing to help if you ask.
We also suggest you stay informed at the Iowa Department of Public Health Website (https://idph.iowa.gov/ )
As we learn more in the coming weeks, we will do our best to keep you informed. Should you have any immediate questions, you can contact any of us on Executive Committee.
Continue to pray for a swift end to these challenges, but that in the meantime we can see how God’s hands are at work in some unusual ways!
Calvary Executive Committee: Pastor John Klompien, Wayne Huisman, Loren Veldhuizen, Darin Dykstra, Bret Walinga
